Ngtorestone - Gem of the Midlands
Location
The town sits on the main body of the River Nene, which flows West to East from the Midlands of historic England, towards the North Sea. The river itself is prone to flooding and as such has many natural watershed zones, lakes and floodpains. The town centre itself is positioned within short road distance of many small tribrutaries and islands, which provide suitable habitat to forage for resources and harvest wood. There is no immediate coastal access due to the towns inland location, however due to the widening of the River Nene downstream from the towns location, small vessels are able to navigate from here to the open ocean.
Environment
The town sits in the wooded biome, surrounded by seemingly endless forests. There is also a large amount of clay and rock, however this needs to be extracted from the ground and is not immediately noticeable on the surface. Due to the proximity of the River Nene, the town has extremely arrable land. Due to the natural watershed of the river, even during periods of drought, the water table remains almost near constant, allowing continous growth of crops and steady drinking supply throughout the seasons. The river is also a vital source of food for the town, boasting numerous populations of fish and small crustaceans.
Town
The town is zoned into 3 different districts:
- Town Centre - North of the River, centre of Goverment and market traders. The majority of the population lives close to the Centre, due to its access to resources and goods. The centre is mostly setup in a grid pattern, with stone roads encompassing settlements of denseley packed houses. A riverwalk stretches the bank of the Nene in both directions and there is heavy emphasis on the planting of trees in all areas. The Ngorestone town hall is located just Northeast of the center; where politicians gather to debate and pass legislations in the town. You will also find here the largest park in Ngorestone, Fountain Park. The park was constructed early on in the towns development to provide a natural green space for the population to rest and relax in, boosting plentiful amounts of benches, tables and trees. In the northwest lies the towns first academical institute, the University of Ngorestone. Built from locally harvested stone and polished glass, this impressive feat of engineering provides a home for scholars to conduct important research and lead expeditions out into the vast english interior. Although efforts have been futile so far in finding relics of the past, discoveries such as goat and sheep have provided the town with a new reliable food source.

- South Ngtorestone - The south of the River, accessible via numerous bridges spanning the river is home to vast amounts of mixed used land, split rather equally between industry and housing. The riverbanks host multiple fisheries; the southeast contains multiple warehouses where the bulk of produce is stored and the southern, central & western side contains neighbourhoods. There are a few notable landmarks on the southside of the river, built here in order to decrease disparity between the northern and southern neighbourhoods. Firstly the Ngorestone Eye. as its known to locals is a circular tool production facility in the centre of the southern districts. Home to fine toolmakers and hidden behind dense forest, most of the tools Ngorestone consumes are produced here. Further south of this is the Ngorestone Museum of Natural History. This grand building was constructed to educate the population on the times of the past, through exhibits and speeches.

3. East Ngtorestone - The east of the town is slowly expanding to encompass the banks of the river, blocks now populate the natural harbour to the East of the town centre. There is once again a large fishing presence here, especially due to access to large deeper lakes. Due to this large lake, the Ngorestone harbour is also positioned here, the deep and slow moving water allows ships to safely harbour here and unload their precious goods sought from afar. This area of the town will most likely expierence the largest growth in the immediate future, due to flat low density forest encompassing it.

Economy
The towns economy is driven largely by two resource groups - Wood and Alcohol. Wood is the largest produced good and also the largest import of the town, it is used as the primary resource for construction and maintenance and therefore is in high demand. Due to the town having suitable farmland to group high tier crops, the decision was made to allocate land to the growth of corn to be used in alcohol production. This has led to a large increase into the consumption of drinks in town, via the Taverns notably. This is also the towns largest export.
Population
According to the most recent census, the population was around 8111 . The growth has been slow compared to other nearby towns, notably due to the emphasis on decorational objects consuming heavy amounts of resources.
