General Information.
Hendrikstad, formerly known as Zhangjing, is one of the three colonies of the Dutch Oceanic Society (Nederlandse Oceanische Maatschappij, NAM), and the oldest of the three. Founded on the North side of the Yangtze river, near the island of Zilverland (formerly Baguazhou). Hendrikstad has a population of 114, and is located near the cities of Fengjingcuangb and Wungcunga.
Hendrikstad is currently led by Stadholder Gustaaf van Overbeek, the nephew of the Prime Minister of the three colonies, Maurits van Overbeek. van Overbeek has held his role as Stadholder since the founding of the colony, not too long ago, being chosen by a council led by his uncle. His reign has been deemed popular amongst the locals, although there are some concerns of the dwindling number of tools and the monetary stagnation currently in the colony. Despite this, production is very high, with the colony producing (as of February 22nd, 3026) roughly 900 units of wood per day, as well as 22 units of grain, set to be turned into alcohol within the coming days to solve the monetary stagnation.
The Geography of Hendrikstad.
Hendrikstad's position is vital, located on the banks of the Yangtze river, it has fertile soils, capable of growing a large quantity of crops. Furthermore, its position at the confluence of three bodies of water allows trade to pass through it easily, and could potentially allow it to control the flow of trade further down the river. Climate-wise, the colony borders between a humid subtropical and humid temperate climate, the colony's climate is officially Cfa. Average temperatures in the summer range from 24.5-32°C, and in the winter the temperatures range from -0.5-8°C, a record low was noted on the founding of the city, with the minimum temperature recorded being -6.7°C. The city experiences high amounts of rain, especially during the summer months, with there being roughly 230mm of rain on average in June, and while rare, there are some snow days during the winter.
