On the small island of Litla Vardøyna off the coast of Norway lies a hidden Viking village that has existed in complete self-sufficiency for centuries. The inhabitants call themselves “The Keepers of the North Wind” and believetheir ancestors were stranded there after a storm shattered their dragon ship. At the center of the island stands a runestone dedicated to their god Odin, said to grant wisdom over hunting, seafaring, and harvest.Despite the harsh climate, they cultivate vast potato fields in sheltered hollows, enriching the soil with seaweed to ensure abundant crops. Nearby uninhabited rocky islets have been turned into quarries, providing thestone used to build their longhouses, protective walls, and sturdy homes.
